Stuart S. Ball Stuart S. Ball is the Co-Chairman of our Real Estate Department. He represents a variety of clients with respect to real estate law and finance. Stuart is well known in the retail real estate industry for his successful representation of retail and restaurant chains and franchisees leasing, acquiring and disposing of sites and for his representation of developers, owners and managers in connection with their acquisition, sale, financing, joint-venturing and leasing of shopping centers, office buildings, apartment buildings and other commercial properties. Stuart has extensive experience drafting and negotiating leases for retail, restaurant and office tenants and regularly represents landlords in leases with big box stores, supermarkets, drugstores, banks, health clubs, gas stations, restaurants and other companies. His wide-ranging experience, ability to negotiate persuasively and practical approach to resolving issues enable Stuart to close difficult transactions efficiently and successfully. Stuart has been continuously engaged in the practice of real estate law since 1984. Immediately prior to joining us, Stuart was a named partner and chairman of the real estate department of a New York City law firm with a national real estate practice. In 2001, Stuart and Philip Sharfstein joined us and established our Real Estate Department. Stuart is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey. Stuart earned his law degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1984. At Hofstra, Stuart served as Articles Editor of the Property Investment Journal. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Boston University in 1981. Stuart is a member of the Commercial Leasing Committee of the New York State Bar Association, Real Property Law Section, International Council of Shopping Centers, The Retail Network and Long Island Real Estate Group. Stuart was selected for inclusion in 2009 New York Super Lawyers, only 5% of the attorneys in the New York metropolitan area were named to this list. Stuart has been a featured speaker of the Real Estate Board of New York, Store Leasing Committee. He is a member of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Legal Committee of Old Westbury Hebrew Congregation and is active in other charitable and civic organizations. |
