David Shargel

Dave Shargel is a Partner in the Firm’s Litigation Department.  His practice focuses on general commercial litigation on behalf of businesses and individuals in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration.  Dave has litigated cases concerning a wide range of industries involving breach of contract, business torts, real estate, insurance coverage, technology and employment. 


Prior to joining the Firm, Dave worked in the New York City office of a prominent international law firm, where he represented clients in a variety of disputes, as well as in investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice.  Dave also served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.  He was selected as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.


Dave received his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 2005, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyon College in 1999. 


Dave is admitted to practice in the State of New York, as well as in the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Ninth Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York, and the Eastern District of Michigan.
