Patrick Doherty

Patrick Doherty is a Partner in the Firm’s Corporate and Securities Department.  Patrick represents private equity sponsors and public and privately held operating companies in a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters, focusing primarily on leveraged buyouts, take private transactions and other merger & acquisition transactions.  Patrick also represents purchasers and issuers in senior and subordinated debt investments and public and private equity offerings and venture capital, strategic, and growth equity investments.  Patrick represents clients in a wide range of industries, including financial services, healthcare, retail, consumer products, manufacturing, digital media, and entertainment. In connection with Patrick’s transactional practice, he has extensive experience with deal structuring, management compensation, employee benefits, commercial contracts, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.

Patrick regularly advises boards of directors, C-level officers, and in-house counsel on corporate governance, fiduciary duty, and compliance matters.

Prior to joining our firm, Patrick was an associate at O’Melveny & Myers LLP and Goodwin Procter LLP, where he was a member of their private equity/mergers and acquisitions departments.

Patrick earned a Bachelors of Arts in History from Cornell University, where he was an Academic All-Ivy League member of the varsity football team.  Patrick received his JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a Senior Editor of the Journal of International Economic Law.  Following graduation from Penn, Patrick served as clerk to the Hon. Frank W. Bullock, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
