William Vita

Bill Vita is a Partner with extensive experience in many different areas of complex civil litigation, including business torts, product liability, construction litigation, employment disputes and mass torts.


Bill is a cum laude graduate of Boston College Law School and obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame. Immediately after law school, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn for five years.  Bill spent two of those years in the Rackets Bureau, prosecuting organized crime and complex economic fraud cases.


Bill has tried dozens of cases and has represented national and international corporate clients in every form of civil litigation, including class actions, asbestos litigation and multi-district litigation.


Bill served as the Chairman of the Product Liability, Construction and Motor Vehicle Law Committee of the New York State Bar Association's Trial Lawyer's Section. He has also held numerous leadership roles, including the position of Chair of the Commercial Litigation Section, in the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, an international legal organization which grants membership by invitation only, following an extensive peer-reviewed selection process.


He is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, The Trial Lawyer Honorary Society and he has been named a New York Metro Super Lawyer.  Recently he was invited to join Interact Law, a global network of legal experts who offer outstanding services and solutions to their clients.


For many years, Bill served on the University of Scranton’s Parent’s Executive Council and served as the President of the Board of Directors of the Gerald Ryan Outreach Center, a non-profit organization serving one of Long Island’s poorest communities.  He also served as a Board Member for Catholic Charities’ Campaign for Human Development.
