May 2013:  Michael Gelfand, Esq. was elected a provisional member of the Board of Directors of the American Mock Trial Association (www.collegemocktrial.org).  AMTA is the governing body for all intercollegiate mock trial in the United States.  He will be eligible for full Board membership in 2015.

Thomas Draghi, Esq., Partner in the Firm's Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department, will serve as a panelist at a program jointly sponsored by The United States Trustee for Region 2 and the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York titled "Pathways to Success in Individual and Small Business Chapter 11 Cases," on May 13, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Alfonse M. Eric G. Waxman III, a partner in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department, will once again serve as an adjunct professor at the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center at Touro College, teaching Sales, UCC Articles 2 & 2A (Leases) for the Spring semester.


October 2012:    Eric G. Waxman III, a Partner in the Firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department, has been selected as a member and co-reporter on the Advisory Committee on Financial Contracts, Derivatives and Safe Harbors to the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) Commission, to Study the Reform of Chapter 11.

Mickee Hennessy, a partner in the Firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department will be co-moderating a program at the Nassau County Bar Association titled “Accounting for Lawyers” on November 1, 2012.  Chris Gorman, an attorney in the Firm’s Litigation Department, will be a panelist on this program.


Stuart S. Ball, Co-Chairman of the Firm’s Real Estate Department, has been selected as a Super Lawyer for the fourth consecutive year in the 2012 Super Lawyers publication for the New York Metro area.  Congratulations, Stu!


September 2012: Philip Sharfstein, Co-Chairman of the Firm’s Real Estate Department, and Jonathan Hoffman, a Partner in the Real Estate Department, appeared in the September 5 issue of the New York Law Journal for their successful representation of the purchaser of an Upper West Side apartment building for $68.3 million.  Congratulations, Phil and Jon!
