January 2012: Mickee Hennessy, a partner in the Firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department, has been invited to be a panelist with other professionals and the Hon. Alan S. Trust, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of New York, in a continuing legal education program concerning Ethics & Civility, which will be held at RXR Plaza on January 31.


Charles Bilich, of counsel to the Firm’s Corporate Department, served as an adjunct professor at Touro Law School during the Fall Semester 2011, teaching their “Business Organizations Practice Module,” a course focused on the development of negotiation and legal drafting skills.


 Eric G. Waxman III, a partner in the Firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department served as an adjunct professor at Touro Law School during the Fall Semester 2011, teaching “Creditor’s Rights.”  Mr. Waxman plans to return again for the Spring 2012 semester to teach “U.C.C. Article 2 Sales.”


October, 2011:  Congratulations to Stuart Ball, co-chair of the Firm’s Real Estate Department, for his designation as a “Super Lawyer” in the publication’s New York – Metro / 2011 Annual List! This is the third consecutive year that Stuart has been selected a Super Lawyer, only 5% of the attorneys in the New York Metropolitan Area were named to this list.

June 14, 2011: Thomas Draghi, a partner in the Firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department, has been selected as a panelist for a New York State Bar Association CLE presentation of Basics of Bankruptcy Practice, focusing on ethical obligations of counsel for debtors and for creditors.  Location: Melville Marriott Long Island, 1350 Old Walt Whitman Road, Melville, NY.


May 2011: Stuart S. Ball, co-chair of the Firm’s Real Estate Department, represented Blumenfeld Development Group in connection with a lease to Life Time Fitness  for its first facility in New York State, a new 112,000 square foot health club at 300 Robbins Lane in Syosset. This lease was awarded the "Top Retail Lease" by Long Island Business News among its 2010 Real Estate Awards for Deals of the Year.


May 2011: Chris Gorman, an attorney in the Firm’s Litigation Department, will be a speaker at a Nassau County Bar Association CLE lecture entitled "Getting the Deal Closed - Business Acquisition and Sale Considerations."  Chris will deal with potential litigation issues arising out of the purchase and sale of a business.  The event is scheduled to take place on May 9.
