Adam K. Grant is a “bet the company” advisor and litigator with extensive experience in all manner of disputes and white-collar matters. Adam's practice encompasses representing businesses, partnerships, boards of directors, special committees, organizations, and individuals in high-stakes matters, providing strategic, commercially-minded solutions to further their goals and protect their interests.  Adam is a strategic thinker who tries to use all available resources, including litigation, to achieve his clients’ goals.

 

Adam has extensive experience handling cases involving breaches of contract, post-acquisition litigation, securities fraud, state Blue Sky Law violations, and fraudulent transfers. He also navigates disputes arising from failed Enterprise Resource Planning implementations and cases involving the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA) and The Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (New York Convention). Adam is a first chair trial lawyer and has significant appellate experience, including the reversal of fifty year old Second Circuit precedent to reinstate his clients’ $49 million claim.   Adam also has experience litigating matters under the Administrative Procedures Act.

 

Adam has been privileged to advise numerous private and public companies on commercial and business matters including business strategy, risk management, acquisition strategy, loss prevention and regulatory compliance. 

 

In his white-collar practice, Adam represents whistleblowers and corporations in matters concerning the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) as well as the subjects and targets of criminal and regulatory investigations. He advocates for clients before the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the New York District Attorney’s office, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

 

Adam's clientele spans various industries, including art, hospitality, gaming, insurance and reinsurance, mining, manufacturing, charitable organizations, real estate, technology, financial services (including hedge funds and private equity firms), education, and associated industries. Known for his ability to distill complex issues into manageable components, Adam consistently seeks practical and cost-effective solutions to help clients achieve their business goals.

 

Adam earned his law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2001 and his B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1998.  Adam has advised numerous not-for-profit boards in a variety of sectors on a wide range of matters.
