David Weiner is a Partner in the Firm’s Real Estate Department. A seasoned closer with a pragmatism forged from 30+ years of transactions, David’s experience spans a wide range of commercial transactions from hotel, office, mixed use projects in New York, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, Winston-Salem, NC, Columbia, SC, Tampa, Florida, and San Francisco, student housing projects throughout the U.S., and in revitalized communities like Asbury Park. David’s experience includes leading the first acquisition of the Transamerica Pyramid since its construction in 1973, the acquisition of the former CNA Building in Chicago known as “Big Red”, the Four Seasons in Miami, and the three (3) adjacent properties comprising the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach. David very capably handles his clients’ corporate and leasing needs accompanying these deals, completing financings, ground, office and retail leases, collectively well in excess of several million square feet. Institutional and private lenders have reached across the closing table to work with him. As sensitive to real estate cycles as his clients, he has gained significant litigation experience over the years; a valuable negotiating and drafting asset. David’s range of practice serves his clients’ varied interests; while his dedication and demeanor have inspired them and colleagues to rely on his judgment and integrity.
David has been continuously engaged in the practice of real estate since 1983. Immediately prior to joining our firm, David was a partner in the real estate practice group of a mid-size New York City law firm with a national real estate practice.
David earned his law degree from Albany Law School, cum laude, in 1983, where he was a founding member of the Moot Court Board and the recipient of the faculty’s appointment to the Order of the Barristers. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Albany in 1979. David is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey, before the Northern District of New Jersey, the Southern District of New York, and the United States Supreme Court, and is a member of the Real Property Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
