Scott B. Fisher, a partner in the Litigation Department and the Banking and Financial Services Group, is an experienced litigator in state and federal courts at both trial and appellate levels.  Scott practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, banking and financial services and creditors’ rights.  Among his variety of clients, Scott represents financial institutions in matters involving commercial foreclosure and complex litigation and appeals.  Scott also represents clients through the trademark registration process, including selection, clearance, preparing and prosecuting trademark applications, office actions, maintaining and renewing registrations, and enforcement strategy.

Scott has a broad range of litigation experience from case inception through discovery, motion practice, mediation, jury and bench trials, and appeals in multiple jurisdictions in state and federal courts.  He believes that the key to his success has been his creativity, meticulous preparation, and willingness to maintain civility even in adversarial circumstances to achieve the most cost-effective results for his clients. 

Scott has been rated a Super Lawyer for the New York City Metro Area in the practice area of business litigation for each year since 2014, achieving 10-year recognition status in 2023.  Scott has also been recognized by the Long Island Business News in its “Who’s Who in Intellectual Property and Labor Law” edition. 

Prior to joining the firm, Scott was a partner in a large Long Island law firm where, for over 25 years, he was in charge of recruitment, hiring, training, and mentoring of summer and part-time law clerks, most of whom have excelled and achieved success in their own legal careers.

Scott is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.  He is also admitted in the Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Districts of New Jersey, Maryland, and the District of Columbia; the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Federal Circuits; and the United States Supreme Court.

Scott received his Juris Doctor from The American University Washington College of Law in 1990 and his Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University in 1987.
